Jazz

Jazz music is at the core of who John Lander is. Having been raised in one of the great epicenters for the genre, John spent his childhood frequenting legendary clubs in Brooklyn, Harlem, and Lower Manhattan, absorbing the vibe of the city and interacting with those who spoke many different dialects of jazz music. While having had the privilege of studying music formally, there was no better training than playing with friends, gleaning wisdom from the elders, and learning on the bandstand.
