Stephen Fort
Stephen is an accomplished opera singer and concert soloist who began his musical journey as a Chorister at St John’s College, Cambridge, later studying Music at Gonville & Caius College and Voice at the RNCM. He has performed with prestigious opera companies such as l’Opéra National de Lyon, Grange Park Opera, and Glyndebourne, covering roles like Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro and Harvey in The Wreckers. His notable roles include Superintendent Budd in Albert Herring, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, and Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni. As a bass soloist, he has performed in works like Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle. He also contributed to a recording of Rachmaninov’s All-Night Vigil with his brother and The Choir of King’s College, London. In 2023, he participated in the Mole Valley Arts Alive Festival, presenting an English Song Recital celebrating Ralph Vaughan Williams and a gramophone recital of mid-20th-century popular music. In 2024, he founded the Clandon Music Festival to bring live music to his childhood village.
